Software Update: FileZilla 3.17.0 – Tweakers

FileZilla logo (75 pix) The final release of version 3.17.0 of the open source fTP client FileZilla has appeared. FileZilla is small, simple and yet complete. The program is popular because of the low load on system resources. However, a common complaint is that unencrypted passwords are stored on the computer. FileZilla is available for Windows, Linux and OS X, and can be downloaded from this page in different designs.

Sourceforge, where the downloads are hosted, lately is negative in the news that the some downloads offers via its own download manager that contains adware. The download is less than 1MB in size and has an icon with the letters “SF”, then you’ve got the wrong man. The download about 6MB and a Filezilla icon, then you’re probably good and you want to make sure that there is in any case the integrity check possible using the SHA-512 hash. Since the release candidate, the following changes are made:

Bug fixes and minor changes:

  • * nix: Removed a label on the filter dialog That does not apply to * nix builds
  •

  • Fix compilation if Nettle is installed in a custom location
  •

  • Fix potential issues with destruction order When closing FileZilla
  •
