Software Update: OpenELEC 4.2.1 – Tweakers

OpenELEC logo (60 pix) Last week version 4.2 of the Open Embedded Linux Entertainment Center released and already is the first update appeared. This Linux distribution is based on XBMC Media Center and a computer can be transformed into a full-fledged HTPC. OpenELEC is easy to install, maintain and use, and is also small and lightning fast. Version 4.2 runs on Linux kernel 3.16, Mesa-10.3 and Xorg-1.16, and includes newer Nvidia drivers. As the basis XBMC 13.2 Gotham used. The major changes in this update are as follows:

OpenELEC 4.2.1 released

This release includes some bug fixes, security fixes and improvements since OpenELEC-4.2.0. Besides the usual bug fixes and package updates, we fixed the Following Reported issues:

 

  • WLAN not working (using Aetheros HTC based WLAN sticks)
  •  

  • Double keypresses with remotes
  •  

  • Showing Xorg mouse cursor in various situations, like after wakeup from dpms / standby …
  •  

  • No or corrupt ASS / SSA subtitles
  •  

  • Non working cpu temperature output on some systems
  •  

  • “Stuttering” while playing videos on systems with Intel GPU
  •  

We also added support for ICE1712 Audio Devices and Panther Lord Game Controller devices.
