G DATA Clean Up – Free your PC from PUPs – Computer Total

of course you run an up-to-date antivirus program, but that can not always stop unwanted software. Especially when it comes to programs that do not contain real malware, but equally can be quite annoying. They show you ads for example, slow down your system or make it unstable, changing system or program settings, adjust the start or search page of your browser and / or trace your (surf) activities. G DATA Clean Up is targeting such software. The program requires no installation and you can safely run alongside your antivirus program. Operation

the operation of the program can hardly be simpler: start-up and the Computer scan impressions now . This scan round can quite take some time, depending on the performance of your system and the size of your disk. Afterwards you get the result: an overview of the detected PUPs, Potentially Unwanted programs , where you can specify which items you want to delete

Results

on our test systems G DATA revealed clean Up some to identify and eliminate unwanted programs (including Delta Toolbar and Babylon Search), but there were also a couple of PUPs in (such as software that automatically it installed with the freeware tool PC Services Optimizer) which G Data clean Up not detected or at least not considered possible undesirable, even though it had placed a toolbar in our browser and customized the search and start machine. The equally free tool AdwCleaner other hand, knew to detect PUPs and delete

We also find it regrettable that the tool is very informative and not clearly indicate what exactly -. And where – is checked. But perhaps that is the price we have to pay for the user.

Conclusion

G DATA Clean Up can help you to detect unwanted programs (toolbars, ads, etc.) and eliminate. The tool is easy to use, but still let fall a few stitches in our tests.
