TensorFlow: Google’s AI software is open source – DutchCowboys

Google is already much longer artificial intelligence (AI) software, which has recently become a lot more interesting. The tech giant has namely TensorFlow released earlier this week, a new AI system used for everything from recognizing speech in a crowded room to find photos of your cat. And what is more striking, Google makes the software open source, anyone can access and code editing.

This software is according to Google already five times faster than the first generation, and it can be run on thousands of computers or on a single smartphone. Google uses it for everything, for search, Google pictures but also for Inbox. As an example, it is what Google Translate used to recognize foreign words on a street sign and the real-time know how to translate. As seen in the image below.

The reason for Google to open source making TensorFlow is to stimulate innovation and also easier making for researchers to share their ideas and code.

Google has released a version of this new technology running on a machine. A version that acts on multiple machines will follow in the near future.

We’ve seen firsthand what TensorFlow can do, and we think it could make an even bigger impact outside Google ,” as can be read on the blog of Google. “ We hope this will let the machine learning community – everyone from academic researchers, to engineers to hobbyists -. exchange ideas much more quickly, through working code rather than just research papers

In the video they explain again clearly what exactly is Tensorflow below.
