Doctorate Drs Bart AE. Maesen: Structure-function relationship of atrial fibrillation waves in goat and man
In this thesis in a goat model demonstrated that the behavior of AF largely determined by underlying muscle fibers. It also appears that paroxysmal atrial fibrillation in people much less complex than long-standing atrial fibrillation, but that there was much variation in the complexity of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.

It is also proven that only a certain type of connective is important for the behavior of atrial fibrillation and not all connective as previously thought. Additionally, demonstrated why some form of ablation of atrial fibrillation is less effective. Finally developed a new software here that can decompose atrial fibrillation very quickly
