Audi rumbled software with 85,000 cars “- Telegraaf.nl

Again setback for Volkswagen. Sister company Audi has admitted to US regulators that a further 85 000 cars contain illegal software. The German automaker still seems to have no control over the emission scandal

writes Financial Times. Volkswagen already has one month to the tug of war with US regulators or the car manufacturer it or not ‘sjoemelsoftware’ installed in the more luxurious models. Volkswagen has already admitted that in 11 million cars with smaller engine has messed with the software so that it looked as if the cars were environmentally friendly.

In early November, regulator Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced that they the wrong software in 10,000 cars had been found with a three liter engine from 2014 to 2016. Volkswagen gave to cooperate with the investigation, but denied that was installed software in these models was not allowed.

Financial Times reports based on some of those involved in Volkswagen Audi has now admitted that the software found conflicts with the US standards for emissions of harmful gases.

Volkswagen and the EPA, however, disagree about the precise effect of the sjoemelsoftware. According to the EPA, the software is designed to violate emissions standards. But Volkswagen maintains still insist that the software was designed to warm up the engine
