Volkswagen: 1.8 million vans equipped with fraudulent software – Beurs.nl

AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones) – Volkswagen AG (VLKAY) reported Tuesday that about 1.8 million light vehicles, such as vans are equipped with software that fraud with emission test results.
A Volkswagen spokesman for the commercial vehicles division could not tell where the vehicles have been sold and which models are involved, because it is still being evaluated.
The light commercial portfolio consists of models such as the Caddy and Transporter vans.
The company reported earlier that the software is installed worldwide in approximately 11 million vehicles, of which around five million Volkswagen brand vehicles, 2.1 million vehicles of the Audi brand ag, while the Czech brand Skoda accounts for approximately 1 2 million cars.
A spokesman for Volkswagen’s Spanish brand Seat reported Tuesday that the fraudulent software is installed in 700 000 Seats.
Friday rejected the group Matthias Muller, head of the Porsche sports car division, as its new chief executive officer of the group. Muller announced a thorough internal investigation to restore confidence in the company as quickly as possible.
A Porsche spokesman said last week that none of the models of the sports car is equipped with the software,
