Bosch VW already warned in 2007 for manipulation software – RTL Z

Volkswagen was eight years ago warned about the banned manipulation software. That was done by Bosch, the maker of the software. In 2011 warned VW’s own engineers also further.

This writes the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ). Researchers came the warning on the track at an exploration of documents at Volkswagen.

Bosch supplies the software to VW, but that was only for testing purposes and not for use in cars go on the road. Bosch would have warned Volkswagen that use in ordinary cars for sale are intended in conflict with the law

When asked how Volkswagen responded to the warnings of Bosch replied according to Bild am Sonntag:. ” in the context of relations with Volkswagen we have an obligation of confidentiality ”.

FAZ refers to the message that the employees warned four years ago to sources within the supervisory board. The commissioners would have only received notice of the warning. It is not clear why the warning had no consequences and who was aware of.
