BCT manufacturers receive funding for new software – TaxiPro.nl

Taxi Trip computer manufacturers each receive up to 165,000 euros grant to develop the new BCT software and roll out. The award of the grant is conditional on the development and certification of the software before April 1, 2016 has been realized. From July 1, 2016 must have all BCT’s about software according to the new specifications so that the ILT devices can fully read and can use the data for enforcement.

The subsidy amounts per manufacturer 50,000 as the basic amount. In addition, 40% of the cost of developing the software. And 15,000 euro for the certification of the software update in the test houses. Reported Wilma Mansveld State Secretary of Infrastructure and the Environment in the Government Gazette.

State aid

With a maximum limit of 165,000 euros to establish there is no State aid, reports Mansveld. This threshold is namely 200,000. When the BCT developers, however, have used grant for the development of the BCT, for example from innovation jars, then it will be deducted from the grant ceiling.

The software update should eliminate scope for interpretation and teething so the ILT devices can be used for enforcement. Also, it will soon be possible to update the air, so taxis are not for every update back to having an RDW station. That fact brings high costs with it. Prerequisite for this is that a BCT includes a modem, the update can now be downloaded.

Contribution taxi industry

Since not all development costs are paid by IenM, producers will choose a contribution of asking the taxi entrepreneurs. “For carriers which BCT software contracts have ended, there are costs associated with the update,” explains director Rob Doodkorte of neone increasing. “The level of reimbursement can not say anything yet.”

Manufacturers neone (formerly Taxitronic) expects the deadline of April 1. Like manufacturer Cabman, who expects the software update to go out as early as January 2016 roles. Also Quipment, which now has under the new approval again, starts with the development of the new software.

“The date April 1, 2016 should be feasible,” says director Olof Dieckhaus. “We’re just not all in their own hands. We also have to deal with external factors, such as certification of the software by test houses. We are pleased with the grant, but it is not enough for development. So even in our taxi operators will have to contribute to the costs. “

Cost

The cost for the taxi industry to perform the update are estimated by IenM up to 100 euro per vehicle. Before that, however, no funding made available. The jar of a few million which is left because fewer purchase grants are provided on a BCT than budgeted is not addressed. “The subsidy per BCT would be too low in relation with the overhead and administrative costs that would be associated with the application,” says Mansveld.

A few months reported back Mansveld to the House that the Environment and Transport Inspectorate until July 1, 2016 will not hand out fines for not having a board computer Taxi. Although the legal requirement still applies, taxi operators receive only a warning. If all is well have the whole taxi industry from July 1, 2016 on a BCT that meets the new specifications, so that enforcement can be started.
