Software “recognizes” child pornography – Dagblad van het Noorden

Industrial engineer Laura Fernández Robles has devised an automated system to identify images with child pornography and analysis. Fernández Robles promotes February 5, 2016 for her research at the University of Groningen.

She has not only developed software to identify objects in digital photos with child pornography. She has also created computer programs to classify porcine semen and – something completely different -. To monitor wear on milling heads

The recognition has objects in photos with child pornography they developed in a PhD program at the University of León (Spain ) and the University of Groningen. The Spanish police used this system now.

The software developed Fernández Robles, retrieves attributes of objects in the images and saves the descriptions in a database.
