Getting started with Aurora HDR – Zoom.nl – Develop yourself as a photographer (press release)

Ik Trey know of his beautiful travel photos and as HDR guru and was very curious about this program and how it compares to the HDR functions of programs such Photomatics and HDR tools in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Because of the extreme effects that are possible, HDR wildly popular. Of slight tweaks in a standard editing program to complete stackings images; HDR workers can all directions in order to obtain the effect that they have in mind. And the wide range of software is now a new chapter added by Macphun. Provided you have a Mac, because the software is simply intended for Apple users.

Very Completely outfitted program

A huge range of features makes Aurora HDR a very complete program. The Pro version of this program the following can anyway:

• layers with blend modes
• Custom Textures

Using the program

the interface to select the photos and to prepare is very intuitive. A child can do the laundry and then, the program started with the pictures. I chose a bracket of five photos, which I for security turned on all the checkmarks for the aligning and deghosten selection screens were equally intuitive.

Then get you a clear screen of your HDR image.

then you can get started with a fairly wide selection of tools, or you will be surprised by the presets. The tools give you many options and similar options in Photoshop, Lightroom or Photomatics, just with different names. Sometimes the result what clearer than the somewhat more technical terms in Photomatics or Photoshop.

I was particularly eager to Nieu presets, which often offer the novice HDR photographer value. I wanted a less garish and natural HDR photo; I use HDR as a tool, not as an art form.

A nice tip is that you can customize the presets in strength, so you have more control over the presets.

Ik These were slightly less satisfied with the halo around the tower.

Comparison with Photomatics and other HDR tools

I turned the same five recordings also Photomatics and got a very different result. First, I notice that the deghosting and alignment drop tower unlike Photomatics, I do not know if I can find that’s fine, because it immediately also cut some of the grass in front, but when there is a lot right.

however, I immediately notice the beautiful color rendering on Aurora, I’d halo around the tower or wegkrijgen with additional post processing at Aurora. The HDR tools Photoshop and Lightroom, I think fairly basic; if you want more options than I grab quickly Photomatics, but I think Aurora certainly comes into my workflow at another time

Conclusies

Aurora HDR is a beautiful and intuitive Mac program to create HDR images. The program has great advantages compared to Photoshop and Lightroom HDR tools and also provides for advanced HDR photographer intuitive tools to perfect detail for HDR images. The presets are nice and complete and scalable in effect, definitely a bonus!

Aurora HDR is € 39.99 for sale on their website. Want multiple licenses (up to 5 Macs), RAW support, LR and PS plugins and more options and presets, then you should go for the Pro version for € 99, -
