Software update resolves heat problems HTC One M9 – GSM Helpdesk Netherlands

Last week Monday showed extensive testing of our Dutch colleagues Tweakers that test models of the HTC One M9 were incredibly hot when running benchmarks. The temperature of the unit rose to over 55 degrees, which is seen as dangerous.

The software update that HTC has released meanwhile has better temperature control. When the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 810 in the device becomes too hot, the software switches back to the speed of the processor so that the processor which can cool down. Thus, the temperature of the unit will now remain below 42 degrees, as confirmed by Tweakers with a new measurement.

The fact that the processor now is somewhat braked down in order to prevent him from running too hot it can be seen in particular benchmark results, but the user according Tweakers itself will not notice in the performance of the device.
