It started as a study of the Washington State University, replacing the Windows built-Paint, but now includes a lot of functionality that we look back in broader commercial packages. Version 4.0 works a lot faster, especially on multicore processors, but it has at least Windows 7 as system requirement. Version 4.0.5 is called a bugfix release and fixes a handful of problems.

Paint.NET 4.0.5 is now available

There were a few bugs That Got Introduced in 4.0.4, so here’s an update That fixes them. Chiefly among thesis bugs are a break in how the Magic Wand tool works, a crash When using Effects, and one When trying to use the Shapes tool
