Windows with open source software – Security.nl

My is claimed that open source is more secure for viruses. What if my many programs as possible from windows ignore all or prefer to uninstall and now open source to take programs in place, then that’s better?

What is the link between open source and susceptibility for viruses? I see the logic not completely.

If all Windows programs to opensource change we no longer need to have an antivirus. Outside windows update and drivers will be difficult. What do you think?

I have to laugh at this suggestion. * * Explain why you believe that you do not need anti-virus on a Windows system, if you use open source solutions for certain things?

Do you think the vulnerability of applications depends on whether such application is commercial or open source (which says something about the license, and not about the quality of the code)?

Think vulnerabilities in your Windows Operating System disappear when what little open source tool installs on your system?
